Capcom announced Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite last year and since then they have been stressing that it will be an “accessible” game.
Capcom COO Stuart Turner, said in an interview that MvC: Infinite is “far more simplistic” than Capcom’s previous fighting games.
Turner added that Infinite will have a good chance of appealing to a wide audience because it will feature well-known characters from the Marvel universe such as Iron Man and Captain America, saying the game will be:
“technically easier to pick up and play.”
Turner also said that Capcom is a market-leader in the fighting game space, and the company needs to continue pushing forward to help the genre overall:
“Fighting as a genre is an interesting one, it’s an area that we as a company excel in, but it’s always one that we need to take more of a lead on for the success and health of the whole genre.”
According to the Steam App Store, MvC:Infinite will be available in late 2017.
